Использование видеофильмов при обучении иностранному языку в рамках средней общеобразовательной школы

Одна из основных задач обучения иноязычной речи – развитие навыков говорения. Но овладение этим видом деятельности сопряжено с большими трудностями, которые обусловлены сложностью самого процесса порождения речевого высказывания. Чтобы создать мотивацию общения на иностранном языке в учебных условиях, необходимо использовать ситуацию, то есть обстоятельства, в которые ставится говорящий и которые вызывают у него потребность говорить. Использование видео на уроках как раз и призвано создавать такие условия, то есть вызывать учащихся на разговор, обсуждение, диспут. Кроме того, учащиеся слушают речь носителя языка, воочию знакомятся с историей, культурой, географией страны. Однако просмотр видеофильмов не должен стать самоцелью. Этот вид деятельности следует увязать с общей методикой и дидактическими принципами. Отбор фильмов, как и процесс разработки системы заданий к нему, очень трудоёмок и занимает массу времени. Но, раз собрав материал, им можно неоднократно пользоваться на последующих занятиях. Прежде всего, фильм должен соответствовать тематическому материалу урока. Так, после знакомства с достопримечательностями Лондона учащимся можно предложить просмотр видеофильма “London Sightseeing Tour”. В зависимости от подготовки аудитории на доске можно предварительно выписать слова, которые, возможно, вызовут затруднения в понимании и переводе.

Перед просмотром учащимся сообщается название фильма и предлагается высказать своё мнение о том, что они ожидают увидеть. Учитель также раздаёт ученикам задание, которое будет обсуждаться по окончании фильма. Для более подготовленной группы это могут быть вопросы:

Во время показа ученики могут делать записи, которыми они воспользуются во время дискуссии. В группах, где ребята хорошо владеют английским, можно провести ролевую игру, выбрав одного ученика гидом, а остальные будут туристами, которые расспрашивают его о достопримечательностях.

He секрет, что в общеобразовательных школах далеко не все ученики хорошо владеют иностранным языком. Тем не менее и для такой аудитории в качестве повышения интереса к предмету, а также с целью расширения кругозора, стоит провести данную работу, значительно упростив задание. Например, перед просмотром фильма “Washington D.C.” в старших классах, помимо слов, написанных на доске, я заранее раздаю ученикам сжатое содержание текста, с которым они знакомятся перед просмотром. По окончании видеофильма контроль понимания в таких классах проводится в режиме тестирования “True/False”:

На мой взгляд, привлекать детей к такого рода деятельности нужно уже с пятого класса. К сожалению, мне не попадались фильмы, соответствующие тематике уроков данного уровня, поэтому раз в месяц, заменив урок домашнего чтения на видеозанятие, мы с ребятами приступили к просмотру мультфильмов на английском языке. Понимание содержания облегчается двумя факторами: такие известные мультики, как “Король Лев”, “Книга Джунглей”, “Алиса в стране чудес” ребята уже смотрели, кроме того, эти мультфильмы транслируются с титрами. Одновременно дети привыкают к восприятию иноязычной речи на слух. Контроль понимания осуществляется несколькими методами. В более подготовленных группах это может быть ролевая игра, где детям, например, предлагается выступить в роли Маугли, Балу или любого другого героя “The Jungle Book” и разыграть сценку. С менее сильными школьниками можно провести беседу по вопросам, которые были даны им перед просмотром. Также можно провести контроль в виде тестирования “True/False”:
