Ход урока

I. Организационный момент

- Good morning. Is everyone here? (Беседа с дежурным)

II. Сообщение темы урока

T: -The topic of our discussion is “modern styles of arts”. We’ve discussed different styles in fashion, art and music. We’ve learned and trained keywords (приложение 1), opinion adjectives (слова на экране) they are on the screen. We are also going to train expression for giving opinions, agreeing and disagreeing with someone.

III. Речевая разминка

T: How important is “style” for you?

- How would you define your own style in clothes?

- How much do know about the latest fashions?

- What do you do when you hear about a new craze of fad?

- Is it important to spend a lot of money to be stylish?

(Ученики высказывают свое мнение). Students give different opinions.

(Ученики выступают с презентацией). Students’ presentations “Famous trends”. (Приложение 2)

IV. Совершенствование навыков монологической речи на базе прочитанного текста “American Graffiti”.

T: We are going to talk about different types of street entertainments, you teenagers are more familiar with this sort of art, than adults. I hope you have different views about street art and it is important that you should respect other views when discussing graffiti and music.

The topic of this article is graffiti in America. We read the article in Student’s Book. It is related to hip-hop culture which grew up in the black ghettos of big American cities in the early 1980s. Hip-hop music is linked with rap which is a style of talking/singing that is very popular. An example of this music you will hear during our class.

Street musicians are sometimes known as “buskers”. “Live statues” are people which stand motionless like a statue. Pavement artists chalk on pavement, often reproducing famous works of art.

- Look at the keywords and use them in your speech.

- Answer the questions:

T: Why did New Yorkers consider graffiti the work of vandals?

P: Because it was threatening and illegal.

T: Why did graffiti artists suddenly become respectable in New York?

P: Because it became a fad and it was acknowledged as street art and was displayed in art galleries.

T: What influence did music have on the popularity of graffiti artists?

P: Hip-hop music became popular and brought its culture and graffiti with it.

T: So you have to indentify the style of music. What sort of things do you associate with this music?

V. Подведение итогов

T: Let’s summarize what we’ve discussed. What would you say in the conclusion, what’s your opinion, view of different sort of art, speak about your favourite style.

VI. Домашнее задание: написать эссе на тему “Modern styles of art” (современные стили искусства).

Essay:

1) introduction (вступление);

2) the main part (основная часть);

3) your opinion (заключение).
