Цель урока – формировать умения монологической речи и чтения с полным пониманием содержания

Задачи урока – обучающие – формировать умения воспринимать иностранную речь на слух с детальным пониманием

- активизировать изученные лексические единицы

- воспитывающие – формировать лингвистическую и социокультурную компетенцию

- стимулировать учащихся к самостоятельной работе

I. Начальный этап

Good afternoon, students. Nice to see you (Nice to see you too)

Take your seats please!

  • What`s the weather like today? (e.g. The weather is sunny)
  • Who is absent? (...)

On Thursday you told me that everyone in your group wants to visit London. Am I right?

Today I will be your personal wizard (слайд 2) and right now your dream will came true.

At that very moment you are not in this classroom (слайд 3), but on board the plane (слайд 4)!

(слайд 5) So ladies and gentlemen, I `m glad to welcome you to our flight № 123 from St. Petersburg to London. Please, fasten your seat belts. We are ready to take off!

Our trip begins. During our flight I would like you to recall some facts about London. And London Quiz will help you to do that. (Приложение 1)

You all know that London has plenty of world-famous sights. So where to go at first!?

I`d like to show you the top 10 attractions of London. St Paul's Cathedral. The seat of Bishop of London today, 5 churches have been built here with the first one in 7th century. Trafalgar Square. A famous square in central London. At the center is Nelson Column. The square is surrounded by fountains. Double-decker bus. Take a ride in this London icon, a great way to tour the city. Thames river cruise. Experience the city by water. Many of London's attractions are visible from the cruise. Covent Garden. Literally a vegetable garden in middle ages, today it`s a hub of restaurants, pubs, and shops tower of London. Tower of London. Built over 900 years ago, it is a historic landmark. Take a guided tour and learn about its many secrets. Tower Bridge. One of the world's most famous bridges. Constructed in 1894, it is an engineering marvel. Houses of Parliament. Also known as Westminster Palace, it is the seat of London's House of Lords and House of Commons. Buckingham Palace. This is the residence of British monarch. Changing of the guard is not to be missed. London Eye. Created for the Millennium celebration, one of the world's largest ferries wheels is a sight to behold.
