Цель урока:

  • обобщение изученного материала по теме “Исторические и культурные ценности Москвы и Санкт Петербурга”

Задачи урока:

1. Образовательные

  • тренировать навыки техники чтения вслух
  • совершенствовать навыки диалогической речи

2. Развивающие

  • развивать аудитивные и лексические навыки по теме “Достопримечательности Москвы и Санкт Петербурга”;
  • развивать внимание и логическое мышление

3. Воспитательные

  • воспитывать интерес учащихся к изучению английского языка;
  • воспитывать чувство патриотизма к своей Родине.

Тип урока: повторительно - обобщающий

  • карточки с цифрами,
  • картинки с достопримечательностями Москвы и Санкт Петербурга.

Ход урока

I. Организационный момент

- Good morning, children!

- Sit down, please. I am happy to see you. Lets start our lesson.

We shall have a talk about the main cities of Russia.

II. Фонетическая зарядка

- Lets recite the poem.

- Answer my questions, please.

What are the biggest cities of Russia? What is the capital of Russia? When was Moscow founded? Who was the founder of St. Petersburg? Has Moscow a metro? Are there any parks in Moscow? Can you name the theatres of St. Petersburg?

Have you ever been to Moscow? And have you ever see St. Petersburg?

Do you like these cities? Why do you like them?

- I want you to listen to my stories. I shall describe different interesting places of the capital of our country. You can see the numbers of them and the pictures on the blackboard and you will use the cards with the numbers on your desks.

1. It is one of the most famous and well-known places in our country and all over the world. It is named after its founder who began to collect Russian painting in 1856. There we can see the pictures created by such painters as Serov, Repin, Ivanov, Levitan and others. It has about 3 millions of exhibits now. A lot of tourists visit this place every year. 2. It is one of the symbols of Moscow. It is the tallest part of the Kremlin, it has 67,3 metres tall. It has the famous clock and its minutes hand is 3,28 metres long. The clock which we can see today was installed in the middle of the 19th century. (the Spasskaya Tower)

3. It was built in 1551-1561 after the victory over the Kazan Kingdom. The architects were Barma and Postnik. It has nine beautifully painted cupolas. Its unusual architecture attracts many tourists. (St. Basils Cathedral)

4. It was founded in 1912 as a museum of plaster moulds on the initiative of Ivan Tsvetayev, the father of the renowned poetess Marina Tsvetayeva. Its collection includes works of art of the ancient Orient and ancient Egypt, of antiquity and Western Europe, ranks second in size after the famous Hermitage in St. Petersburg. 5. It is situated in the Square of Arts. There is a famous monument near this place of interest. You can see wonderful collections of beautiful works created by famous Russian painters. (the Russian Museum)

6. This place of interest is adorned with four sculptures. These sculptures symbolize the human victory over the animal. First we can see a man, who is almost lying near a horse, and then gradually he stands up and become the winner. (the Anichkov Bridge)

The Hermitage

Most visitors to St. Petersburg want to see the Hermitage State Museum. It is one of the largest and well known museums in the world. The Hermitage was founded in 1764. Now the Hermitage consists of five buildings.

The Museum contains art collections of all ages. There is the richest collection in the world of Oriental art and culture. There are wonderful collections from China, India, ancient Greece and Rome. West-European paintings are represented in the Hermitage too. The total number of paintings of West-European masters is 7.5 thousand. They include world-famous works by Leonardo da Vinci, Raphael, Titian, Rembrandt, Rubens and others.

The West European department of the Museum has a fine collection of European sculpture, containing works by Michelangelo, Roden and many other masters.

Thousands of people visit the Hermitage and admire its collections every year. The museum is so big that it’s impossible to see half of its treasures within one visit.
