Задачи урока:

1. Развивать умения говорения по теме: учить обучающихся высказывать свое мнение, опираясь на иллюстративный материал, прочитанный текст.

2. Активизировать лексику по изученной теме.

3. Развивать у обучающихся навыки аудирования с извлечением конкретной информации.

4. Развивать умения чтения с извлечением нужной информации.

5. Развивать у уч-ся способность к догадке, осуществлять репродуктивные и продуктивные речевые действия.

6. Воспитание активности в решении коммуникативных и познавательно-поисковых задач, формирование уважения к языку.

Оборудование: раздаточный материал (таблицы, заготовки для медалей), записи на доске, тексты для работы в группах, презентация с текстом для аудирования, кроссворды.

ТСО: ПК, проектор.

Ход урока

I. Вводный этап урока

1. Организационный момент

  • Приветствие;
  • Проверка готовности учащихся к уроку;
  • Сообщение темы урока, раскрытие общей цели урока.

T: Our topic for today is ”Sport. Olympic Games. Famous athletes.” We are going to sum up our knowledge on the topic “Sport”.

2. Речевая зарядка.

Подготовка к активной учебно-познавательной деятельности на основном этапе урока.

T: Look at the blackboard here you can see two proverbs about sport.

Health is above wealth.

A healthy mind in a healthy body!

T: Are you agree with them? Why is it so important?

T: Why do people go in for sport?

P1: It makes our body flexible.

P2: It helps us be active. Etc.

T: What kind of sport do you do often or like very much?

P1: I do athletics.

P2: I like swimming. Etc.

II. Основной этап урока

T: For our next work we must review our lexical material about sport. Let’s name some of them and write down on the blackboard. (На доске нарисована схема, в которую обучающиеся по очереди вписывают слова) (Приложение 1)

T: Thanks. And now let’s relax. I’ll give you small shits of paper with names of different kinds of sport.

Read them and try to make a riddle about your sport but don’t name your kind of sport.

What equipment do you need? What clothes do you need? Who plays it? Where can you do it? (Приложение 2)

T: Are you ready? Let’s start.

P1: It’s for women and men. Athletes haven’t got special clothes. But they need special figures. They are usually black and white. This sport activity is for clever people. Etc.

P2: Is it?

P1: Yes, it is.

P3:

T: Good of you. As you know that all sportsmen and sportswomen take part in different sports competitions, matches, games, in different tournaments. They try to set records. And what is the main dream of all sportsmen and sportswomen?

P1: Receive gold medal.

P2: Take part in Olympic Games.

T: You are right. Now we are going to listen to the text “History of the Olympics.” (Презентация Listening Comprehension “History of the Olympics”). We start our work with vocabulary work. Then listen to the text carefully.

T: You know that all Olympic Games have their own symbols. What symbols do you know?

P1: It is flag.

P2: It’s flame. Etc.

T: What do you know about them?

P3: I want to tell you some words about rings. There are five of them. They are blue, black, red, yellow and green. Every rings stands for one of the five continents. Although there are seven continents, Antarctica is excluded and North America and South America are considered one. The connection of the rings symbolizes the connection of the continents during the Games and the ideal of peace and brotherhood of the whole planet. Etc.

T: Good. All athletes try to set records. What are the Olympic awards? What do the winners of the Olympic Games receive?

P1: Olympic awards are medals.

P2: The first place winner receives a gold medal, the second place winner receives a silver medal and the third place winner receives a bronze medal.

T: Let’s work in 2 groups. In your small groups create your own design for the back of a medal. (Получают заготовки для медалей). And try to discuss what your designs inspired. (Выходят к доске и защищают свои проекты.)

T: Good. And now tell me who is the main character of all sports events.

P: Sportsmen and sportswomen.

T: Name some of them?

P1: Slutskaya is a famous russian figure-skater.

P2: Sharapova is our tennis player.

P3:

T: We’ve got famous athletes in our town, haven’t we? Do you know them? Name them, please.

P4: Yes, we have famous athletes in our town. Svetlana Khorkina is our Olympic champion. She was born in Belgorod.

P5: And Fedor Emelianenko is our well-known athlete too. He is from Stary Oskol.

T: Let’s try to learn more about them. I want you to work in two groups. You must read your texts (Приложение 3; Рисунок1; Рисунок2) and make some notes in a special table. You must choose leaders in your groups. Then leaders must change their groups and tell their new group about his/her athlete. (Используют свои заполненные таблицы, как опоры). And members of each group will try to make notes about their new athletes. (Записывают в таблицу) (Приложение 4)

T: And now your questions to each other.
