УСЛОВНЫЕ ОБОЗНАЧЕНИЯ: Т: - учитель, Р: - ученик.

T: Some people say that they do not need friends, but I think that they are insincere. A true friendship and good friends brighten our lives. Can you give the short characteristics of a true friend?

(Possible variants).

P: A true friend is someone who never tells you lie. He should be honest.

P: A true friend is someone who ….She should be….

T: Thank you very much for your answers. Victoria believes that a true friend can forgive you for being unfair towards her. Now I offer you to read a story told by Zina “It just turned out that way”

It just turned out that way.

I agreed with other girls to go to the cinema on Saturday evening. We could not get tickets for the 6 o’clock show and that is why Lera (she is my best mate) bought tickets for the 8 o’clock show. I wanted to refuse from going to the cinema because my parents do not let me to go out so late. But Lera persuaded me to stay. She promised to let them know about the late showing herself as I had left my phone at home…And there was such a row at home that I can not describe it. My parents threatened not to allow me go out at all…”You see, it just turned out that way.I have quite forgotten…Forgive me, please”, asked Zina.

T: Divide into two groups, please. The first group”Never”.The second group “Understand and forgive”. Please, discuss if you really should forgive your best mate or not.

T: Give your arguments, please.

(Possible variants).

1st group: We think we should forgive friends because all people have the right to make mistakes. If Lera and Zina are real friends they should forgive each other and save their friendship in any situation like this.

2d group: We think it is not easy to forgive a friend who has let you down or betrayed you. The best way here is to part, otherwise Zina will always think about Lera as an unreliable person.

T: I am thankful for your answers.

Friendship is a joy for everybody that is why there are so many proverbs and sayings about it. Read them.

A friend in court is better than a penny in purse.
A friend in need is a friend indeed.
A man is known by the company he keeps.
Before you choose a friend, eat a bushel of salt with him.
Be slow in choosing friends, but slower in changing them.
A friend is never known till a man has need.
Not as a duty but as a friendly service.
Old friends and old wines are best.
One can cross the whole land for a friend.
They are rich who have true friends.
He is a good friend that speaks well of us behind our backs.

And now choose one you like best and explain what it means for you. Use your list of expressions.

T: What do you think about friendship between a boy and a girl? Is it possible? Could you share your ideas, please?

(Possible variants).

P: I believe in friendship between a girl and a boy. Moreover it can grow into love at any time.

P: I am sure that friendship is possible when people have much in common, but boys and girls are so different, they have no similar interests.

P: To my mind the friendship between boys and girls is not only possible but it is necessary, because a boy can defend you if someone hurts you.

P: I do not believe in such a friendship. The boys are so rude sometimes. I can not get on well with them.

P: Girls could not be real friends because they like to gossip and can not keep secrets.

P: In my opinion there is no matter if you have a boyfriend or a girlfriend. The main thing is to be a true friend, to support you in difficult situations and not to betray.

T: Different people have different views. Thank you. And now listen to the song”And he kissed me” (Possible other variants).Fill in missing verbs in the correct tense. Use the verbs below.

Well he up to me
And he 'Would you like to dance?'

And one day he…me home
To meet his Mom and his Dad.

When he me to be his bride.
But my tears of happiness I couldn't

T: Imagine the situation when you are planning an outing or a day of entertainment with your boy- or a girlfriend. Please, make up a dialogue. Then act out the dialogue. Don't forget to greet each other and to say goodbye.

T: In summer most of you spend your holidays in youth camps and make friends with your roommates. It is not always easy to get on well with them. Imagine such a situation.
