Цели и задачи:

1) Практиковать учащихся в говорении, чтении и аудировании.
2) Активизировать лексику по теме.
3) Расширить кругозор учащихся о стране изучаемого языка.
4) Повысить у учащихся интерес к изучению английского языка.
5) Формировать умение учащихся применять полученные знания на практике.

Учебное оборудование: флаги, эмблемы, карта, карточки, звезды.

Ход урока

I. Приветствие.

Hello, boy’s and girls. Glad to see! How are you?
The theme of our lesson is the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
Today we shall speak about the countries of the United Kingdom, its capitals, flags, population, mountains, rivers and languages the people of the U.K. speak. We shall see who the best expert of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland is.
Our lesson is unusual today. It is called the hour of triumph. There are many guests at our lesson. They are the teachers from different schools of our district and your classmates.
On the right we can see our jury. The chair man is… .The members of the jury are … . Our applause.
And in front of you can see our participants. For every rig ht answer you can get one star. Our fans may also take part in our competition.

The highest mountain is Snow don.
The people here speak English and Welsh.
The capital is Cardiff. Most people work in industry and coal – mines (Wales).

Text №3: This part of Great Britain is larger than Wales, but smaller than England. It has the highest mountain. It is Ben Nevis. The population is more than 5 million people. The largest city is Glasgow, but it is not the capital. The people of this country speak English and Scots (Scotland)

Text №4: This is the largest part of Great Britain and the UK. It occupies the central and southern part of G.B. It has the largest territory and population. In the largest city of this country there are about 8mln people. The population in this part speaks English. (England)

Text №5: This country is in the west of G. B. It is small. Its population is about one million and half people.
Much of the country is low. There are green hills and low mountains. The people in this country speak Irish and English (Northern Ireland).
