The Russian Federation is the largest country in the world. The Russian Federation was set up by the Constitution of 1993. Today the state Russian flag is three coloured. It has three horizontal stripes: white, blue and red. The white stripe symbolises the earth, the blue one stands for the sky, and the red one symbolises liberty. The anthem of Russia is created by Alexandrov and Mikhalkov. Now the national emblem is the two-headed eagle, the most ancient symbol of Russia.

Russiaўs most important cities are Moscow and St. Petersburg, formelly Leningrad.
Moscow, the capital of Russia, is the largest city of the country. The history of Moscow is connected with the history of Russia. The date if its foundation is the year 1147. It was founded by Prince Yuri Dolgoruky.
 Nowadays, it is the political, administrative, economic, educational and cultural center of the country. The centre of the city and the historical heart of Moscow is the Kremlin. Within the walls of the Kremlin are located the meeting places of the government of Russia. Among these are the former Senate building, the Kremlin Great Palace, and the modern Palace of Congresses.
There are many places of interest in Moscow. The city is famous for its histirical monuments, museums, art galleries and theatres. The State Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts and the State Tretyakov Picture Gallery are subjects of nation wide pride.

St. Petersburg is the second largest city in Russia and one of the most beautiful cities of Europe. It has played an important role in Russian history. It was founded in 1703 by Peter the Great as the “Windows on Europe.” It was the capital of the Russian Empire for two centuries. St. Petersburg was the scene of two revolutions.
The modern city is important as a cultural and industrial center and as the nation’s largest seaport. There are over 80 museums, more than 20 theatres, a lot of exhibitions, clubs, universities, colleges, schools and parks. The Alexandrinski Drama Theatre, the Bolshoi Drama Theatre, the Marinsky Theatre of Opera and Ballet are pearls of the Russia art.
 The city is often called the Venice of the North because more than 60 rivers and canals there.

There are many theatres and cinemas in Saratov Operaand Ballet Theatre, Puppet Show Theatre, Drama Theatre. But the most popular with the Public is the Theatre for young Spectators.
Saratov is called a town of student‘s. There are many institutes and universities in Saratov .
I like my town and I am proud of it.
