What is the message of the story?
  2. 2. How many parts can this story be logically divided into?
I asked you to prepare the dialogues from this story in order to show the inner world of this girl, Jig, how her mood changes throughout the whole story.
Dialogue N1 .Mind please, P1-P2, you must show that the girl is in the seventh heaven of happiness, that all her dreams are centered around the baby, that
     she is really happy.
Task to the group: Listen to them very attentively & tell me everything you car: about this girl, Jig, what you feel after this dialogue.
    Sts'talk.

Dialogue N2.

T: We feel tense while reading the second part of the story. You remember it is written in grey colors. You must show (P1-P2) that the girl is full of despair. Her companion persuades her to have an operation. Listen to them: you should understand how Jig's mood changes & tell everything you can about this girl.

Sts'talk.

IV. Prove that she is very poetic by nature.

In all his stories Hemingway describes nature. Why does he do it?
Prove that Hemingway disapproves of the man's behavior. (He calls him coolly 'the man') Prove that this man is not sincere.
What would you do if you were Jig?

Would you yield to his persuasions? ...
How do you account for the title of the story?
How does this story characterize Ernest Hemingway?
Prove that Hemingway avoids being moralistic.

V. Comment on the following phrase :(B/B) "A woman can be happy in a tent if they love each other & miserable in a royal palace without love".
