ХОД УРОКА

– Good morning, dear children. The theme of our lesson is “Making costumes at the puppet factory”. (Приложение, слайд 1). Our plan for today’s lesson is:

  • Warming up

  • Listening
  • Reading
  • Working with the text
  • Home task

1. Warming up

– Look at the screen. Answer my questions. (Приложение, слайд 2)
– Let’srecalltherules.
– When do we use can/could? (Present/past, permission/polite request)
– When do we use must/mustn’t? (Obligation/prohibition)
– Keep in mind these rules, do intellectual task using the modal verbs.

2. Intellectual task

– We’ll develop attention. Sign your work. Read the task and begin doing it.
Check up your answer with the key. If you have no mistakes, write 100% on the line “your mark”. You did the task correctly. Attention will help us to do our next tasks.

3. Phonetic drill

– Today we’ll practice the sounds,.
– Which letters give us these sounds? (th)
– Give your own examples with these sounds: (theme, that, these, mother, brother, thank you, three, maths, teeth, throw, think, together, etc.)
– Listen, say after me.  Read. (Приложение, слайд 4)
– Don’t forget to pronounce the sounds, correctly.

4. Retelling of the text

– Yesterday we read the text about the children’s visit to the Puppet Factory.
– How do they make puppets? (Приложение, слайд 5)
– What must they have?
– What happens first?  (Приложение, слайд 6)
– Why must they wear aprons?
– What do they do after that?
– What happens then?
– Why do they use bars?
– Take the puppet, show how they make puppets and tell us about this.
– So you know how to make puppets. You know the text very well.

5. New words

– Now we’ll learn what happens next, how they sew costumes for the puppets.
– Look at the screen. (Приложение, слайд 7)
– Let’s translate the words.
– Good of you. You’ve translated all the words correctly.
– Listen, say after me. Read the words.

6. Break

– I see you are a bit tired. Let’s have a short break. We continue to develop our attention. I’ll give you an instruction and show a red or a green sign. If the sign is green, you must follow the instruction. If the sign is red, you mustn’t follow the instruction:

  • put your hands up, down (a green sign)
  • put your right hand on your left shoulder (a green sign)
  • put your hands on your head (a red sign)
  • touch you left ear (a green sign)
  • turn around (a green sign)
  • sit down (a red sign)
  • jump (agreensign)
  • touch your left eye (a red sign)
  • stamp your feet (a green sign)

7. Listening.

– Now look at the screen. This is the sewing room. (Приложение, слайд 8)
– What are they doing? Can you guess?
– Let’s listen to the text and see if you were right. (CD №10)

8. Reading

– Let’s read the text for details.Open your books, page 24.
– Be ready to answer what they are saying. (Приложение, слайд 9)
– You are quite right. Thank you.

9. Working with the text

– Answer the questions (Приложение, слайд 10)
– Now let’s namethe things they do at the Puppet factory:

  • They must have wooden balls, scissors, paints, some string, wood and cloth.
  • First they paint the face. They must wear aprons.
  • Then they make the body, arms and legs. They mustn’t touch the saw.
  • After that they put the body together.
  • They cut out the costumes on the cutting table.
  • They sew the costumes in the sewing room. They must sew carefully.
  • Finally they put the strings on the puppets and hang them up. They mustn’t drop them.

10. Подведение итогов

– Today we spoke about the modals must/mustn’t, the puppet factory and sewing costumes for the puppets. Now you know how to make puppets and sew costumes for them. You worked well, were very active. Thank you.
