Holiday destinations

Venezuela is a beautiful country in South America which has something to offer to every visitor. There are tropical beaches where the land meets the Caribbean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean. To the east there are the snow-capped peaks of the Andes Mountains and in the south there is the Amazonian rainforest.

Most tourists come into the country by air, landing in the capital city, Caracas. While you are there, Plaza Bolivar with its architecture from the 17th century is well worth a visit as is the busy Parque Central.

Most people, however, come to see the natural wonders on offer. Two of the favourite destinations are Angel Falls, the highest waterfall in the world, and Lake Maracabio. More adventurous travellers can take a canoe trip up the Orinoco River, climb Pico Bolivar, the country`s highest mountain or take a boat trip along the Carrao River to Hacha Falls. It will be the experience of a lifetime.
