Цели.

- практика в устной речи;

- формирование у учащихся интереса к литературе;
- формирование познавательной активности.
Оборудование: рисунки сказочных персонажей, дорожных знаков, рисунки для отработки модальних глаголов, рисунки к сказке, раздаточный матеріал с заданиями, видеозапись.
Ход урока
1. Greeting.
– Good morning, boys and girls!
– Good morning, teacher!
– I am glad to see you.
- We are glad to see you too!
- Sit down, please.
2. Aim.
Today’s theme is “Modal Verbs”. We’ll revise our grammar material, compose the fairy-tale, using pictures, we’ll talk about road signs and play the game. Let’s start our work.
3. Warming – up.
Listen to the rhyme “I can” (Учитель читает стихотворение, одновременно показывая рисунки). Слайд 1
I can read and I can write
I can swim and ride a bike
I can jump and I can hop
I can hop, but I can't stop
Look at the picture. Can you recite the poem? Let’s try. (Ученики, глядя на рисунок, вспоминают стих и рассказывают его, помогая друг другу).
4. Phonetic Drill
Today we’ll fly to the Land of the Fairy Tales and it goes without saying that we need a magic carpet. That’s why you must repeat magic words after me. We’ll get the magic carpet if we pronounce them correctly.

1. Revising Grammar.
a) Let’s take the carpet and fly. Do you see the Land of the Fairy Tales? What’s over there? Is it a tower? Look at the picture. Слайд 3 Do you see a princess there? She can’t leave the enchanted tower. Let’s help the prince to see this tower. This is the message from the princess. Find modal verbs there.

3. Oral Practice.
a) Let’s go to Alice. We’ll have dinner there. Do you know table manners? Look at the picture and say what you shouldn’t do at table. Слайд 4

b) We’ve lost the way. Can we find the road? The modal verb “can” will help us. Look at the pictures and say what people can and can’t do. Слайд 5

f) We came to Cinderella’s palace. Look at the pictures and say what Cinderella has to do. Choose one of the characters and speak on behalf of Cinderella, her stepmother or godmother Слайд 8
(Отработка must, have to, has to, вспоминаем правило)
(Дети выходят к доске по три человека. Каждый выбирает себе бирочку с понравившимся персонажем (мачеха, Золушка, фея) и вешает её себе на шею, чтобы было видно от имени кого он говорит. Мачеха приказывает Золушке (подняв руку, указівает на неё), поэтому ребенок смотрит на картинку и использует “must” при составлении предложения. Золушка печально рассказівает о том, что ей надо сделать (have to), а фея жалеет Золушку (подняв ладошки к щекам и качая головой) (has to). Должна получиться небольшая сценка.
(Stepmother: you must air the rooms.
Cinderella: I have to air the rooms.
Godmother: Poor Cinderella, she has to air the rooms.)
g) The pupils also have to do a lot of things. Look through the dialogue, put the sentences in the correct order and read this dialogue, choosing the necessary modal verbs.
