Внеклассное мероприятие в рамках Недели иностранного языка

Цели:

Обучающие:

  • обобщение знаний по теме «Страны изучаемого языка» и их применение в коммуникативных целях;
  • совершенствование лингвострановедческих компетенций обучающихся.

Развивающие:

  • расширение кругозора учащихся;
  • развитие лингвистической догадки;
  • расширение социокультурных компетенций учащихся.

Воспитательные:

  • приобщение учащихся к культуре и традициям англоговорящих стран;
  • воспитание уважения к иноязычной культуре;
  • создание у обучающихся положительной мотивации к изучению языка;
  • воспитание умения работать в команде.

Вступительное слово ведущего: Good morning everybody! Boys and girls let's meet our guests! Dear guests we are happy to see you at our competition. It is devoted to the English - speaking countries. Boys and girls I am sure you know a lot about the countries. The competition will show your achievements and the knowledge of the matter. I wish you success. Be active, honest, industrious and helpful and you will win.

I asked you to split into 2 teams . Well, the captain of the 1 st team is……. Let's greet the members of the 1st team. Meet the members of the 2nd team with their captain….. And of course the jury will be all eyes and ears following the game and helping to score the points. Your task is to get as many points as possible. The team with the highest score will be the winner.

The rules of the game are rather simple. You are to respect your class - mates and not to shout. No doubt, winning is the aim, but it is only a game. Don't forget that. And now it is the time to begin the game itself.

Now it is time for the teams to introduce themselves (the name of the team, its motto, emblem, some words about the members of the team, etc.)

The 4 th game "Stop game"

So the rules of this game are the following: I read you some texts about English- speaking countries but I don't mention the name of the country. You listen to me very attentively and try to guess this country. If you are ready to answer you can cry: "STOP" and name the country. If the answer is right you'll win 2 points. If the answer is wrong I continue my reading. The other team has right to answer. The team that will guess more countries wins. Is everything clear? Let's begin then.

This country is situated on a group of islands lying in the north- west part of the continent of Europe. There are no high mountains, no very long river, and no very great forest in the country. The population of the country is almost 56 mln. It is a capitalist country. The head of the state is the Queen. This country consists of 4 parts. (The UK)

It is one of the richest countries in the world. It is washed by 2 oceans: The Pacific Ocean and the Atlantic Ocean. The head of the state is President. (The USA)

This country has an area of nearly 10 mln square kms. Its western coast is washed by the Pacific Ocean and its eastern coast by the Atlantic Ocean. The population of the country is more than 26 mln people. It is a federal state. There are 2 official languages in the country: English and French. (Canada)

This country is situated south - east of Australia. The country consists of the large islands called North Island, South Island and Stewart Island and also many small islands. The population of the country is more than 3 mln people. It is a capitalist self - governing state and a member of the Commonwealth. (New Zealand)

The territories of this country are the whole continent, the island of Tasmania and number of smaller islands. The country has an area of nearly 8 mln square klms. The population of the country is over 16 mln people. You can meet amazing animals in this country such as panda, kangaroo, dingo and many others. (the Commonwealth of Australia)
