  2. HELLO EVERYBODY! TODAY WE ARE TALKING ABOUT THE WORLD OF WORK. AS YOU KNOW, THERE ARE A LOT OF JOBS: MALE AND FEMALE, INDOORS AND OUTDOORS, SEASONAL AND NOT. CAN YOU NAME THEM? LET US MAKE A SPIDERGRAM, SHALL WE? (APPENDIX)

  3. CHECKING:

1. GROUP WORK.

UNDOUBTEDLY, AMONG PROFESSIONS WE CAN FIND MODERN AND ANCIENT, FASHIONABLE AND UNFASHIONABLE. NOWADAYS SOME JOBS ARE SOCIALLY ACCEPTABLE: A NANNY, A COOK AND A GARDENER.COULD YOU DIVIDE INTO 3 GROUPS TO DISCUSS THESE OCCUPATIONS.

GROUP 1 – THE NANNY

GROUP 2 – THE COOK

GROUP 3 – THE GARDENER

I WILL GIVE YOU 2 MINUTES TO PREPARE YOUR DISCUSSION.

TIME‘S UP. LET US START.

GROUP I:

P1- IF I AM NOT MISTAKEN, PRINCESS DIANA MADE THE WORK OF A NANNY FASHIONABLE. AMANDA PENISTON, 21, ADORED HER NANNY AND DECIDED TO CHOOSE THIS OCCUPATION BUT HER FATHER WANTED HER TO BE A SOLICITOR. HE THOUGHT SHE WOULD FOLLOW IN HIS FOOTSTEPS AND STUDY LAW.

P2- AS FAR AS I REMEMBER AMANDA HAS ALWAYS GOT ON WELL WITH CHILDREN.SHE HAS ALWAYS ENJOYED TAKING CARE OF HER LITTLE SISTER AND YOUNGER COUSINS. THEREFORE, AMANDA TOLD HER MOTHER VERY FIRMLY THAT SHE WOULD BE A NANNY WHEN SHE GREW UP. AT THAT TIME, HER MOTHER LAUGHED BECAUSE SHE THOUGHT IT WAS JUST A CHILDISH PHASE SHE WAS GOING THROUGH BUT IT WAS NOT.

P3- TO MY MIND THERE WERE SOME TERRIBLE ROWS IN THE FAMILY BUT AMANDA DID NOT GO TO THE UNIVERSITY. SHE LEFT SCHOOL AND SPEND A YEAR WORKING AT LUDGROVE SCHOOL. THEN SHE STARTED HER TRAINING COURSE AT NORLAND COLLEGE. NOW AMANDA IS WORKING A NANNY OF TWINS AGED SIX MONTHS. HER PARENTS ARE PROUD OF HER AND PLEASED THAT SHE HAS MADE HER OWN DECISION.

ROUP II:

S1- AS I KNOW GILES MILDMAY, 24, HAS BEEN A PROFESSIONAL COOK FOR THREE YEARS. HE HAS ALWAYS BEEN INTERESTED IN FOOD BECAUSE OF A WONDERFUL COOK IN HIS GRANDPARENTS’ MANOR. SHE MADE SO FANTASTIC STANDARD ENGLISH FOOD THAT GILES USED TO LOVE WATCHING HER WORK AND PICKING UP A LOT OF COOKING TIPS FROM HER.

S2- I WOULD LIKE TO MENTION THAT AT SCHOOL GILES CHOSE COOKERY AND AT THE AGE OF 15, HE HAS TAKEN OVER THE COOKING FOR HIS PARENTS’ PARTIES. ONE NIGHT OVER DINNER THE BOY BROUGHT UP THE SUBJECT OF HIS CAREER. AT FIRST, IT WAS SILENCE, AND THEN HIS FATHER ASKED WHY. GILES EXPLAINED THAT COOKING WAS LIKE PAINTING A PICTURE OR WRITING A BOOK. EVERY MEAL WAS AN ACT OF CREATION.

S3- FROM MY POINT OF VIEW GILES IS THE HAPPIEST PERSON ‘CAURSE HE IS DOING SOMETHING HE ENJOYS. NOW HE HAS OPENED HIS OWN RESTAURANT. HIS PARENTS WERE SO DELIGHTED WHEN HE ANNOUNCED WHAT HE WANTED TO DO. HOWEVER, GILES’S GRANDFATHER (ON HIS MOTHER’S SIDE) THINKS THAT HE IS MAD.

 GROUP III:

S1,S2,S3- THE GARDENER

2. INDIVIDUAL WORK:

CERTAINLY, IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO MAKE THE RIGHT DECISION IN CHOOSING YOUR FUTURE CAREER. THE GREAT PEOPLE SAID (QUOTATIONS. APPENDIX.)

TO MY MIND, IT WOULD BE INTERESTING TO KNOW YOUR OPINION ABOUT THE CHOICE.

S1- WELL, FIRST, I WOULD LIKE TO POINT OUT THAT THE QUESTION ABOUTCAREER ALWAYS WORRIES TEENS. I DO NOT KNOW EXACTLY BUT I THINK THAT I CAN BECOME A JOURNALIST. IT IS SO EXCITING AND INTERESTING. NEVERTHELESS, I MUST HAVE DIFFERENT SKILLS AND QUALITIES. I SHOULD HAVE A GOOD KNOWLEDGE OF LITERATURE AND THE RUSSIAN LANGUAGE.IT IS SO ATTRACTIVE TO WRITE ABOUT POLITICS, SPORTS AND OTHER THINGS. I AM SURE IN OUR MODERN WORLD JOURNALISM HAS GREAT INFLUECE ON PEOPLE.

S2- TO MY MIND IT IS NOT AN EASY TASK TO MAKE THE RIGHT CHOICE. THERE ARE SO MANY PROFESSIONS AROUND! AS FOR ME, I AM GOING TO ENTER THE MEDICAL ACADEMY AND BE A DOCTOR. WHEN I WAS ALITTLE GIRL, MY GRANDFATHER WORKED AT A HOSPITAL AND I SPENT SOME TIME WITH HIM. I RESPECT MY GRANDPA AND I HAVE MADE UP MY MIND TO FOLLOW HIS EXAMPLE. I AM SURE THAT MEDICINE WILL BE MY PRIMARY OCCUPATION IN THE FUTURE.

S3- AN ECONOMIST

S4- A TEACHER

S5- A DESIGNER

S6- A MANAGER
