ХОД УРОКА

I.  Организационный момент

How are you feeling today?

It’s a pity that some of you are in a bad mood. If  I am not mistaken the reason of your bad mood is the existence of some problems. If you are not so reserved as the British would you be so kind to tell me about your problems .Write down your problem on a shit of paper and stick it on an interest pie.

II. Основная часть урока

An interest pie shows that you have lots of problems .I want to know where we can face different problems.

The topic of our lesson is « COPING WITH ADULTS» .Today we are going to speak  about this eternal problem .Would you be so kind to discuss the most  wide –spread problems in your families. Discuss and write down them .Work in groups.

These notes show that our pupils come across  different problems. Name them.
What do you think of that?

Frankly speaking these problems are very close to mine because not so long ago I was a teenage and wanted to make my own mistakes rather than to listen to the warnings of my parents. And I have decided to make a scientific research among the 10th forms. 75 pupils were asked 5 questions and my assistants helped me. Tell us the results of our research .

To sum it all up, I want  to say that my generation had the same problems at the age of 15. I want to know why these problems are the most wide-spread.

A major problem for many teenagers is who they can ask for advice when they need it- parents, teachers, a sister, a brother or a friend .Who would you go to for advice?

But if you had a very personal problem, would you go to write a letter to a magazine or make some notes in your diary or may be you would visit  a psychologist in order to get useful advice.

I completely agree with you that everything depends on a person .If you are a reserved person you will try to keep all your sorrows inside you. But if you are a frank one, you will go to for help.

What do you think about teenagers from America and Great Britain? Are there any differences between our teenagers?

Would you agree with that fact that foreign teenagers can send a letter with their sorrows to a   magazine.

Advice Special is the New Streetwise problem page .Today we are going to listen to a letter published on this page .Before we are going to work with this letter, let’s do some exercises.

  7. Listen  to the first part of the text.
  8. Now put the sentences  in the correct order.
  9. Complete the sentences with the words below:

I see that you have understood the text .Just now I want you to give some pieces of advice to Jane .I would like to divide  you into several groups .You will be parents ,grandparents ,friends .Think about your advice.

Let’s listen to a piece of advice which is given by a psychologist.

Whose advice was close to a psychologist’s one?

I suppose you will agree with me that it is easier to give advice than to be in parents shoes .You were given a task to prepare dialogues on your daily problems. Are you ready?

The last dialogue has just proved that your parents can be your best friends and they will be very pleased that you are going up. If you do  have a problem ,try talking about it with one of your parents .You may think they are not  as flexible as you are, but just try them .Ask them about how they felt when  they were teenagers. Of course , times were different but human nature is not. They probably experienced many of the same feelings you are having now. And remember, if you do want to change things, think before you act.

I want you to make up the list of slogans which helps us to overcome  our misunderstandings.

There are some slogans on the blackboard. Put them in  order of preference.

BE PATIENT
SMILE, PLEASE
BE TOLERANT
DON’T BE DEPRESSED
DON’T WORRY, BE HAPPY

Try to remember all these slogans!

IV.  Окончание урока

Today we have tried to find the solution to the problem «Coping with adults».Of  course, it’s impossible to give a definite answer to this problem but to my mind the only way to solve this  problem is  to be tolerant and patient.  And remember that your parents are your best friends. They will help you and console you whenever you need.
