Ход мероприятия.

1. Сообщение темы и целей воспитательного мероприятия.
Teacher. Good morning ,my  dear boys and girls! Good morning, our dear guests! I am happy to greet you .I am glad to see you happy and healthy today.
Teacher. I think all of you like holidays, special and happy times of the year. They are a specific time when people can relax and forget about work or studying and do all the things that they don’t have time to do when they are working.
The USA is one of the few countries in the world, that has an official day on which fathers are honoured  by their children. On the third Sunday of June fathers all across the USA are given presents, treated to dinner or otherwise made to feel special.
Today we are going to speak about Father’s Day.

2. Основная часть мероприятия.
P1: Do you know anything about the history of this holiday7
P2: While many people believe that Father’s day is a holiday invented by the fine folks at Hallmark, it’s not so. The celebration of Dad’s special day can most likely be credited to Mrs .John B. Dodd, of Washington State, who first suggested the idea of the holiday in 1909.
Mrs.Dodd’s father, civil war veteran William Smart, was widowed when his wife died in childbirth with their sixth child. Despite the obvious hardships Mr.Smart proceeded to raise the newborn along with his five other children, by himself.
It wasn’t until Sonora Dodd became an adult that she realized the strength and selflessness her father had shown in raising his children as a single parent. The original date chosen for the holiday was June 5, Mr.Smart’s birthday, however, the celebration was postponed until June 19, the third Sunday in June, because there was not enough time to prepare.
P3:   At about the same time in various towns and cities across America other people were beginning to celebrate a Father’s Day. Some accounts credit Mrs.Charles Clayton of West Virginia, as the founder of Father’s day, although most histories give credit to Mrs.Dodd.
In early times wearing flowers was a traditional way of celebrating Father’s Day. Mrs.Dodd’s favoured the red rose to honour a father still living, while a white flower honoured a deceased dad. J.H.Bettinger, who also held Father’s day celebrations in Washington State as early as 1912, chose a white lilac as the Father’s day flower.
In 1924 President Calvin Coolidge supported the idea of a national Father’s Day, but it never became official until 1966 when President Lyndon Johnson signed the presidential proclamation that set aside the 3rd Sunday of June as Father’s Day.

Аудирование учащимися сценки « How a Good Lord Created Father”.
Characters:  God , Angel, Storyteller.
Storyteller: When the good Lord was creating fathers, He started with a tall frame. And a female angel nearby said
Angel: What kind of father is that? If you are going to make children so close to the ground, why have you put fathers up so high? He won’t be able to shoot marbles without kneeling, tuck a child in bed without bending, or even kiss a child without a lot of stooping.
God: Yes, but if I make him child size, who would children have to look up to ?
Storyteller: And when God made father’s hands, they were large and sinewy.
Angel ( shaking her head sadly ): Do you know what You’re doing? Large hands are clumsy. They can’t manage diaper pins, small buttons, rubber bands on pony tails or even remove splinters caused by baseball bats.
God ( smiling ): I know, but they’re large enough to hold everything a small boy empties from his pockets at the end of the day…yet small enough to cup a child’s face.
Storyteller: Then God molded long, slim legs and broad shoulders.
Angel ( nearly having a heart attack ): Boy, this is the end of the week, all right. Do you realize You just made a father without a lap? How is he going to pull a child close to him without the kid falling between his legs?
God ( smiling ): A mother needs a lap. A father needs strong shoulders to pull a sled, balance a boy on a bicycle or hold a sleepy head on the way from the circus.
Storyteller:  God was in the middle of creating two of the largest feet anyone had ever seen when the angel could contain herself no longer.
Angel: That’s not fair. Do You honestly think those large boats are going to dig out of bed early in thee morning when the baby cries? Or walk through a small birthday party without crushing at least three of the guests?
God (smiling): They’ll work. They’ll support a small child who wants to “ ride a horse to Banbury Cross” or scare off mice at the summer cabin, or display shoes that will be a challenge to fill.
Storyteller: God worked throughout the night, giving the father few words, but a firm authoritative voice; eyes that see everything, but remain calm and tolerant.
Finally, almost as an afterthought, He added tears.
God (turning to the angel): Now are you satisfied that he can love as much as a mother?

3.Ведущий:
Father plays a great part in our life. Blessed indeed is the man who hears many gentle voices call him father! Our attitude towards him is changing during our lifetime. Being little we need his protection, being teenagers we consider him old-fashioned and being grown-ups we need his advice.

My Father

When I was:
Four years old: My daddy can do anything.
Five years old: My daddy knows a whole lot.
Six years old: My dad is smarter than your dad.
Eight years old: My dad doesn't know exactly everything.
Ten years old: In the olden days, when my dad grew up, things
were sure different.
Twelve years old: Oh, well, naturally, Dad doesn't know
anything about that. He is too old to remember his childhood.
Fourteen years old: Don't pay any attention to my dad. He
is so old-fashioned.
Twenty-one years old: Him? My Lord, he's hopelessly out
of date.
Twenty-five years old: Dad knows about it, but then he
should, because he has been around so long.
Thirty years old: Maybe we should ask Dad what he thinks.
After all, he's had a lot of experience.
Thirty-five years old: I'm not doing a single thing until I talk
to Dad.
Forty years old: I wonder how Dad would have handled it.
He was so wise.
Fifty years old: I'd give anything if Dad were here now
so I could talk this over with him. Too bad I didn't
appreciate how smart he was. I could have learned a lot
from him.

Учащиеся рассказывают о роли отца в своей жизни.

P5: Dad can teach us a lot of things. He means a lot for me. He is my hero. He is my knight.
P6: Father teaches me to feel good about the world in order to feel good about my future in it. My father tries to be more positive than negative .He lets me know he is optimistic about life, he should be, too.
P7: When I was a little girl my father read nightly to me. He took me to the library and helped me choose a book on my favourite subject. Then he made sure I read it and we could discuss it together. He saw I enjoyed reading for pleasure.
P8: I have always known I can talk openly with my father. He asks me questions that will encourage me to come up with my own solutions,
P9: We discuss family rules, plan activities together for the coming week, and discuss long-range family plans, such as where to go on vocation.
P10: My father gets involved in my education by helping with homework.

Ведущий: It has been said that men are from Mars, women are from Venus. With that in mind it’s only natural what Dad wants for Father’s Day is quite different than what Mom usually gets on Mother’s Day.Вoys, use your imagination and guess what Dad wants to have for Father’s Day in contrast to what Mom wants to have for Mother’s Day. Perhaps, your fathers, our guests, will help you.
 For example

Релаксация

Учитель предлагает закрыть глаза и послушать музыку. Какие воспоминания, связанные с папой, появляются в памяти? Об этом они сообщают учителю.
P1: I remembered my first days at school and my father tried to encourage me…
P2: I imagine father at the seaside. I’ll never forgetour going there 3 years ago, swimming together, sitting round the fife, singing songs… and so on.
Ведущий: What is the role of fathers in bringing up the children? I have to say that today in families where the wife works, the father is sometimes more involved in the process. He shares responsibilities and spends more time with the family. They go to the parents’ meetings, get interested in pedagogy…

Upbringing.

Сharacters: Father, Mother, their son, teacher.
Faher: My wife swears like a trooper all the time, all day long. The matter is our son. It seems to her that I am a bad tutor. Of course, I am a poor tutor. But how can I bring him up right? My son used to come home with a “two”. Well, I used to scold him, or whip or push into the corner. My wife says over and over again that this is not the proper way of upbringing. I wonder what way it should be done.
One day I came home tired after my working day.
Mother: That will do! Don’t take your coat off. Just go to the school to the parents’ committee meeting. Why is it only me who goes there?
Father: There was nothing I could do. So I went to school. To tell the truth, I was in no mood for going there. I went without dinner.
There is my son’s school , like all other schools. Well, schoolboyish behaviour and tricks… but I hardly expected that my son’s monitor was such a beauty.
Father: Darling, I apologize for my blockhead son who gets “twos”.
Teacher: Sorry, but I am not “darling” at all. I am Natalya Ivanovna.
Father: I was embarrassed. For all that I have done to bring my son up, though I myself am certainly not a well brought up man, I offered apologies once more: my blockhead son wasn’t brought up by any educational system, like Makarenko’s. He was brought up only from time to time…and I both have to bring him up.
Father: She characterized my son so precisely that I was astonished. She seemed to know him better than I. After that I started educational process in exactly the way Natalya Ivanovna recommended. And the result followed. In just one day my son got “ four”. I rushed to the school, although my wife insisted on my not going there.
Teacher: You have had some success. You are a natural teacher.
Father: Is there any one who dislikes being praised ? I continued eagerly. I bought many books on pedagogy. I became more attentive to the children playing in the yard. What if they will be brought up more skillfully? My son and I began to go to the cinema and museums, to folk art exhibitions. Natalya Ivanovna rtook part in all these cultural events.
Oh, yes, that was a good time. We used to go to the countryside. We spent time in the open air. We studied ecology and other subjects about nature.
Once Natalya Ivanovna and I were sitting together, embracing each other/
Father: My darling, I’m so grateful to you for your sincere devotion to pedagogy. When you witness a person being brought up…
Teacher: Come on, sweetheart. It is your pedagogical talent that stimulates the child’s cognitive capabilities.
Father: And we are smiling. We are happy to have the same views and interests. Here is my son, standing by. He is staring at us, his eyes sparkling. Because of admiration, I think.
Everything was so perfect. Until one day my wife appeared in front of us.
Mother ( crying) : Is that the way you study pedagogy?
Father: And she took the boy home.
My wife doesn’t understand the educational process at all. Only I and Natalya Ivanovna. There is much pleasure for people who are deeply involved.

What Makes A Dad

God took the strength of a mountain,
The majesty of a tree,
The warmth of a summer sun,
The calm of a quiet sea,
The generous soul of nature,
The comforting arm of night,
The wisdom of the ages,
The power of the eagle's flight,
The joy of a morning in spring,
The faith of a mustard seed,
The patience of eternity,
The depth of a family need,
Then God combined these- qualities,
When there was nothing more to add,
He knew His masterpiece was complete,
And so, He called it... Dad

A Father and a Dad Are Not the Same

A father and a dad are not the same:
One can be a dad and not a father,
Or one can be a father and not bother
To earn through love the more endearing name.
Some find fatherhood a bit too tame.
Leaving all the details to the mother,
Or dumping the sweet burden on another
Man with just a passing twinge of shame.
You have been our dad so many years
That you've become the landscape that is home,
The mountain that we look to from afar.
No matter where we go we're not alone,
For you remain within to still our fears
And be the word that tells us who we are.
Author Unknown

Ведущий: Dad gives his heart to a child. He is always near. He protects you from all harm. He teaches you all the things in life you need to know. He is the source of love that helps grow. Honour him with all the respect that is due. His heart is big enough for you, Long live our Dads! Our love for you knows no end.

Песня

Для приятного завершения урока учащиеся поют песню.

Music:Grey Sky
A little girl needs Daddy
For many, many things;
Like holding her high off the ground
Where the sunlight sings!
Like being the deep music
That tells her all is right
When she awakens frantic with
The terrors of the night
Like being the great mountain
That rises in her heart
And shows her how she might get home
When all else falls apart.
Like giving her the love
That is her sea and air,
So diving deep or soaring high
She'll always find him there.
