III. Listening.

Now I want you to listen to the national anthem of Canada. <Приложение 1>

IV. Reading.

Open your books at page 19. Here you see a list, but with some gaps. Now we are going to read the information and then we will listen to the recording and complete it.

Let’s read it and translate.

V. Listening.

Now listen to a quiz and complete the information.

Включается аудиоприложение (диск) к учебнику.

Do you need to listen to it once again?

Why would you like to go there?

2) Where would you like to go in Canada?

Have you ever heard about Ottawa, Toronto, Sydney?

3) Why do you think Canada might be a good place to live?

You see, that the environment of Canada is very beautiful. There are millions square kilometers of forests, rivers, lakes and mountains. And it is similar to the environment of Russia.

VIII. Listening.

Look at exercise 3. Here you need to listen to the biography of the explorer, Alexander Mackenzie, and put these events in the right order.

Let’s check it.

Exercise 4. You will listen to the biography once again and need to write some notes about:

  • Mackenzie’s family,
  • The importance of his second expedition,
  • His personality (features of his character),
  • His attitude to Native Americans.

Then I’ll ask you.

IX. Home task.

Your homework will be to chose one of the travelers or explorers from Russia and to speak about him: where he was born, his family life, what places he went to, what he did, when and where he died and his importance.

Thank you for your work. The lesson is over. Goodbye!
