Нетрадиционные формы урока английского языка организуются, как правило, на заключительном этапе изучения определённой темы и являются своеобразным тестовым контролем усвоения изученного материала, навыков говорения. Игровые приёмы работы с применением информационных технологий вызывают у детей наибольший интерес: приближают речевую деятельность к естественным нормам, способствуют отработке языкового материала, обеспечивают практическую направленность обучения. Подобная смена привычной обстановки целесообразна, поскольку она создает атмосферу праздника при подведении итогов проделанной работы, снимает психический барьер, возникающий в традиционных условиях из-за боязни совершить ошибку. Нетрадиционные формы урока иностранного языка осуществляются при обязательном участии всех учеников группы/класса, а также реализуются с непременным использованием информационных технологий. Участие в игре повышает интерес учащихся к английскому языку, у них появляется стремление улучшить свои знания по предмету.
В данной презентации представлен урок-игра для учеников 5-9 классов, который составлена по теме “Великобритания”, как урок обобщения и закрепления материала по теме. Игра построена по принципу телевизионной передачи “Своя игра”. Она состоит из 3-х раундов и финала. В каждом раунде вопросы разной сложности (10-40 баллов) распределены по темам:
- О стране;
- О Лондоне;
- Праздники;
- Американский английский;
- Литература и культура;
В каждом раунде участвует по три ученика.
Форма мероприятия: урок-игра.
Тема: “Знаешь ли ты Великобританию?”
Цель: обобщить, расширить и углубить знания учащихся по теме.
Задачи:
- расширять эрудицию учащихся, их общий кругозор;
- развивать социо-культурные компетенции; развивать познавательный интерес к стране изучаемого языка;
- воспитывать у учащихся доброжелательность и чувство сопереживания.

Вступительное слово учителя.
Dear friends! I am very glad to see you. We have gathered together to hold a contest. The subject of our today’s game is Great Britain. I realize that you know much about this country from books, TV programmes. I also told you much about this beautiful country. Today we’ll get some more information about Great Britain. I wish you to have nice time at our contest.

На экране проецируется сводная таблица с названиями тем первого раунда и баллами по степени сложности вопроса. По очереди участники раунда выбирают в предложенных темах вопрос, на который желают ответить. Если ученик отвечает правильно, он выбирает следующий вопрос, как только он даёт неправильный ответ, право ответа переходит другому ученику. Баллы суммируются – плюсуются или минусуются. Это делает учитель. Победитель каждого раунда выходит в финал. Из трёх финалистов ученик, набравший большее количество баллов, становится победителем.
Подведение итогов игры.
