Цели урока:

  • повышать интерес к истории, культуре своего региона: прививать любовь к "малой" родине, гордость за ее историю;
  • развивать межкоммуникативные компетенции обучающихся на основе использования материала регионального компонента на уроке.

Задачи урока:

Практические:

  • систематизировать и обобщить знания обучающихся по подтемам: "Театры Марий Эл", выдающиеся представители театрального искусства, первые профессиональные актеры - наши земляки на основе подготовленных презентаций;
  • активизировать употребление лексики по теме, расширять словарный запас.

Образовательные:

  • совершенствовать навыки обучающихся в монологической, диалогической речи, аудировании, в чтении и письме;
  • развивать навыки использования знаний для подготовки и представления презентации по теме.

Воспитательные:

  • развивать мотивацию к изучению английского языка для использования его как средство общения с зарубежным сверстником;
  • знакомить обучающихся с реалиями культуры своего народа, региона посредством иностранного языка.

Оборудование: компьютерные презентации, портреты артистов театра, книга о Марийском национальном театре драмы им. М. Шкетана, буклеты, афиши.

Ход урока

I. Организационный момент.

1. Приветствие.

Т: Good morning, girls! I'm glad to see you & our guests in the classroom. How are you? What's the news? Ask your classmates.

Travelling around the world it's important to know the history, traditions & customs of your own country, region. They say "East or West - home is best". Do you agree with this proverb? Why?

2. Объяснение цели урока.

T: Well, girls! Today we are going to speak about great events in cultural life of our republic Mari El. Last week of November was full of different ones. Our students would like to draw your attention to the most interesting of them presenting their projects.

These events are: firstly, the anniversary of the theatre named after M.Shketan.

Secondly, some facts from the biography of the playwright Mayorov - Shketan.

Then we'll listen to the story about our countryman, one of the first professional actors Pavel Toydemar.

We'll do some exercises, too. Let's start!

T: Well, girls! You are students & are studying different subjects, e.g. Mari & English. What would you like to tell your foreign friends and our guests about cultural events of the region we live in - the republic Mari El & Morki region?

Let's tell them what you know, what have you prepared. Do your best!!!

Student -1. The 90-th anniversary of the Mari National Drama theatre named after Mayorov - Shketan was celebrated on the 29-th of November. The main topic of my work is the history of this theatre. Приложение 1.

From the history of the theatre: 1919 - 2009

A. The beginning:

The first Travelling Theatre of Mari was founded on the 1-st of November 1919

On the 29-th of November 1919 the play of Tynysh Osyp was performed on its stage.

This day is the birthday of the theatre.

B. Professional actors & actresses

In 1927 the first Mari studio of music-drama art was opened in Krasnokokshaisk.

18 girls & boys who wanted to be actors were studying there for two years

In October 1929 the Mari State Theatre began its work

C. They were the first:

The first director was Ivan Timofeevich Belyaev (1891-1937)

The first playwrights were A.Konakov, I.Borisov, V.Muhin, Mayorov- Shketan

The first actors were A.Savinov, N.Smirnov, P.Toydemar, A.Strausova, etc.

D. The change of the names:

On the 29-th of November 1948 the Mari State Theatre was named after the famous Mari playwright Maiorov-Shketan

In March 1949 the theatre got the name of the Shketan Mari United Drama Theatre

E. A modern theatre:

In April 2002 the Shketan Mari National Theatre was renamed to the Shketan Mari National Drama Theatre

Nowadays the theatre is 90 years old. It takes part in festivals & competitions of different ranks.

It is very successful & popular with audience

Some facts of his life & creative activity (1898-1937)

A. Birthday, birthplace, childhood..

Yakov was born in the village Old Krescheno (now Orshanski region of Mari El) on the 17-th of November 1898 in a peasant family

After 2 years at school he lived with his parents, helped his father & read many books of Russian writers

B. At the beginning:

After the army in 1918 he was working in different soviet organizations for 3 years & began to write plays

In 1921 Yakov Pavlovich went to Krasnokokshaisk where in 1922 he wrote the drama "Sarday" about the life in a Mari village

C. The activity of the author

In 1923 his drama "Oh, parents!.." was staged at the theatre & had a great success

His first book - the story "The God's sin" - was published in Moscow in1924

D. Creative years

In the 30s Yakov Pavlovich worked in the editorship of the newspaper as a journalist & an editor.

At the theatre he was an actor, a director, a playwright who wrote 13 plays & dramas for the theatre

E. A versatile writer

As a writer Shketan published the novel "Erenger", a number of stories, 300 newspaper articles and 80 satirical articles.

In 1931 the novel of Serafimovich "The iron stream" was translated by Shketan into the Mari language.

F. The recognition of people

Y.P.Mayorov - Shketan was a skilled reciter, a real folk writer, fame of Mari literature, one of its creators.

The Mari State Theatre was named after the famous Mari playwright Mayorov-Shketan on the 29-th of November 1948

Y.P.Shketan's plays are in the repertoire of the theatre up to the present

- Hi, Kristina! This is a small world! How are you?

- Fine, thanks. And how are you?

- Life is going its usual way. Thanks. Nice to see you at the theatre!

- Pleased to hear it. By the way, where do you have a seat?

- In the stalls, row C. And where is your seat?

- In the box, close to the stage.

- What do you think about the play?

- The action develops greatly. Some scenes are full of humour. The cast is a new one.

Do you agree with me?

- Frankly speaking I do. That happens to be a rather good performance.

Have you been to the Mari Drama Theatre before?

- Haven't had a chance, you know. I am here for the first time. I like the hall as it is beautifully decorated. The chairs are comfortable and the place is convenient. To sum up, everything here

is wonderful especially the performance.

- That's right! You see, I advise you to see "Yivan Kyrla" by Solovyov at this theatre.

You will be impressed, I am sure.

- As for me, I have been dreaming of seeing any play by Shketan. I'll do my best to see his famous play "Oh, parents!"

- I want to inform you that the best actors and actresses are engaged in the performance.

The leading men are the famous actors, too. Their names are well-known in our republic.

9. Student - 4: As for me I want to tell you about the actors of the Mari National Drama Theatre who were or are from Morki region. The first actors were P. Toydemar, A.Tichonova, M.Michailova, V.Zernov, V.Savvina. My story is about Pavel Stepanovich Stekolschikov - Toydemar, our countryman. Приложение 3.

Project №3: They were in the vanguard of Mari art

Pavel Stepanovich Toydemar (Stekolschikov) 1899 - 1958

A. Childhood & youth

Pavel was born in the village Kozhlayer (Morki region now) on the 14 of July 1899 in a peasant family.

As a boy he helped his father who was a glazier.

Pavel was keen on music because of his father who played the pipe, the psaltery, the reed pipe and the accordion very well.

B. In the days of his youth

In 1919 he was called up to the army

In 1922 Pavel came back to his native village.

In 1924 he met the actors of the Travelling Theatre and its leader Nikolay Smirnov.

C. The career of a professional actor

In 1927 a Mari studio of music-drama art was founded in Krasnokokshaysk .

Pavel was one of its 18 members

At the end of the 20s Pavel Stepanovich took a pseudonym of Toydemar

D. At the theatre:

After the studio he became an actor of the Mari State Theatre.

In 1928 he took part in shooting of the film "Mari Kuzher" (director Boris Shelontzev)

E. The fame of a talented actor

In 1930 he left the theatre as he decided to study at Moscow musical school and to be a professional musician of folk instruments

At that time he was the leader of the Mari students' choir in Moscow.

F. Concert activity during the Great Patriotic war

In 1943-1945 Toydemar organized a group of Mari actors, musicians and singers who gave more than 1000 concerts for soviet soldiers, officers and men during the Great Patriotic war.

G. A famous countryman

In 1940-1958 Toydemar was a leader of Psaltery Group and propagated Mari music in our country.

People of Mari El & Morki region are proud of their countryman - Pavel Stepanovich Toydemar - one of the first professional actors of Mari culture.
